Devices for Dry Mouth Treatment
Our client has found an innovative, non-invasive, effective, and cost-effective solution to treat dry mouth (xerostomia) and is now seeking licensing / strategic partners to market their devices worldwide.
Dry mouth, a condition affecting more than 80 million people in the high-income countries, is a chronic and mostly irreversible condition induced as a side effect by over 1,800 commonly used medications, radiation therapy for head & neck cancer, and by auto-immune diseases and other conditions. The world market for dry mouth is about USD 6 Billion. Dry mouth affects significantly the patient's quality of life and induces handicapped chewing, swallowing and speaking, bad breath, sleep disturbance, excessive tiredness, decreased enjoyment of life, and consistent negative effects on patient's day-to-day lives. Furthermore, the teeth are exposed to high decay rate.
The Company has addressed this problem by developing two products for the dentist's market, while a third direct-to-consumer product is in development. The principle behind it are low level electro-simulation for short periods of times (a few minutes a day) to oral tissues and at a level below what a patient can feel / sense it. The company's products are protected by five patents.
Chemistry Analyzer System for Veterinary Market
We have an extremely attractive opportunity in a near-commercial veterinary diagnostic system from our client that fills an important void in the current veterinary testing market. The system is in the final validation phase and is expected to hit the market in 2010. The system provides for a quick (under 90 second) test on a variety of analytes that are important parameters in determining a pet's health.
Veterinary market is a large market with relatively little regulatory hurdles and the Company expects to assume a leadership role with its high-tech, low cost solutions to this market.
Oral Fluid Diagnostic Platform Technologies
Our client aims to take a leadership position in advancing access to medical care by becoming the leader in the field of oral fluid diagnostics and developing innovative diagnostic and monitoring tools enabling expansion of testing by healthcare providers. The company has expertise in extensible oral fluid platform technologies for both point-of-care and central laboratory settings. The initial focus will be to build on its early experience and success in developing and manufacturing an oral fluid HIV diagnostic test. The Company will then broaden its range of diagnostic products to replace classical blood-based testing and raise the standard of care by targeting the US and European diagnostic markets, the largest in the world.
Advanced Digital Pap Test
Two world renowned scientists (formerly with the NIH) have developed an advanced, patented pap test which makes reading and interpreting the results of these tests easy and nearly automated and results can be read and delivered within a few hours (instead of a few days) from central laboratories via telemedicine. Future versions of self-test / home test are also planned
The technology behind this new test is a novel biomarker that enhances the visibility of abnormal cancer cells. This test offers a number of advantages including higher accuracy and sensitivity while being cheaper!

The company is pioneering the development of tools for BOTH laboratory diagnostics and point-of-care testing based upon saliva samples. Universal Cancer Detection Test
Our client has a very interesting technology that can detect just about any type of cancer by their technology of a broad-spectrum cancer marker which is the receptor to the Alpha-fetoprotein. This receptor is present only in cancer cells. Healthy cells do not have these receptor in an appreciable amount. Our client has licensed the technology for certain types of cancer detection using automated assays but this technology is available for certain applications including enzyme-linked immunoassays (ELISA), chemiluminescence immunoassay or radioimmunoassay format using 96-well microtiter plates. The owner of the technology is looking for interested parties to License reagents for use in manual applications for a range of cancer types including ovarian, prostate, breast, stomach, pancreas, lymphomas, cervical and lung.

The price will include online, interactive, multimedia sessions of 20-30 minutes customized to the health of the consumer. This will motivate the consumers to make healthy choices and will allow them and physicians to interact more effectively.
More importantly, having additional tests on this platform is very inexpensive and this platform will include large panels of research analytes that may not be clinically valid at present. Cancer Detection Chip - Early Predictor of Common Types of Cancers
This company has a promising technology based upon genotyping and its proprietary computational predictive model to be able to detect / predict six types of cancer using its cancer chip and also using this platform technology to be able to detect fifty additional cancer types. The company is also developing drug treatments knowing the genes and receptors responsible fort these cancers.

In-vitro Lung, Bladder and Other Cancer Detection Platform Technology
Company's technology uses a modified, patented porphyrin molecule that binds to cancer or pre-cancer cells, and porphyrin-bound cells can be detected with high sensitivity by fluorescent, red glowing color under UV light. They can be detected in an automated flow cytometer or under a microscope, which also can be automated for lowering the cost for a screening test. Due to its high degree of sensitivity, the method can be used for early detection. Although this technology is a platform technology that can be used for inexpensive and early detection of a variety of cancers, the initial focus of this company is on detection of lung cancer followed by bladder cancer.
